Building Log 2 Here are the first few pictures of my progress on the full size "Flyer". Barbara Ramsey showing off the AIAA 1903 replica at FAA HQ in Southern California.............how inspiring! I rush home and start milling stock from 6x6 timbers on my friend Carl Pfeiffer's big band saw. I start by laying up double width rib caps. Glued rib assemblies will later be split in two on the band saw. Double thick rib assemblies on the "rack", waiting for the epoxy glue to cure. Front and rear spar stock being laminated on the floor. I laminate two boards for each spar and arrange grains for maximum strength. I now have an engine....... and some wings and canards! My first air show, Benton Field, Redding, Ca. Father's day 2003.
