The Wright Flight

Welcome to my home page....

My name is Tom Ivicevich and I plan to fly a Wright Flyer across this beautiful country in search of adventure and aviation history......

On or about December 17, 2003 I plan to depart Redding, California in my home built replica of a Wright Brothers flying machine.  I will head South to an airport in Southern California, just blocks from the Pacific Ocean. From there I will begin my coast to coast flight in search of stories, places of aviation history, and aviation's Mecca itself, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.  I had planned to be in North Carolina on December 17, 2003 so I could take part in the centennial celebration of flight.  However, I am still finishing up the aeroplane.

 I will document this adventure on film, and I will continue to keep updating my progress on these pages.

POST SCRIPT:

Well..............December 17, 2003 has now come and gone.  I managed a short hop (about 2 inches) on that day here at Redding Municipal airport.  Unfortunately the aeroplane was not ready for flight that day. I want to thank the hundreds of people who came out to the airport to celebrate with me the wonderful achievement of the Wright Brothers.  If Wilbur and Orville could have been here they probably would have laughed their derbies off.

I will continue to work on the air machine and soon plan to fly it in the sky.  Please stay tuned as I will be adding my flight test log to this site as well as all news clips I can collect. My news clippings can currently be seen in the "Building log 2" page.
